Offerings of Deer and Arrows and Feathers

On the back of this Huichol yarn painting the following is written on the wood:

En este cuadro bemos (vemos) las ofrendas que estan aya en San Blas que es aya en Ayamara (Huichol name for San Blas) en donde los Huicholes tambien le ba (va) a dejar ofrendas a los peces a si como tambien a los viboras dioses y vemos los caminos de los animales que yegan (llegan) adonde estan las ofrendas y vemos el mono parado en una calavera de un toro que tambien los Huicholes le yeban (llevan) ofrendas que son los venados y las fleches y plumas.  –Gilberto Gonzalez Diaz

 

In this picture we see the offerings that are there in San Blas which is there in Ayamara where the Huicholes also go to leave offerings to the fish and also to the snake gods and we see the trails of the animals that arrive where the offerings are and we see a monkey standing by a skull of a bull to which the Huicholes also take offerings of deer and arrows and feathers.  –Gilberto Gonzalez Diaz
