Here, Piggy Piggy!!!
My family has always been terrible at saving money, preferring to live life on the more spontaneous side. One thing that my parents decided to do was get this ceramic piggy bank and deposit a small amount of money in it each week. They plan on using the money for gratuities and gifts around Christmas time next year. The great thing about this piggy bank is that the only way one can access the money inside is to break it open. This is how piggy banks used to be, no?
I used to have a wooden piggy bank that was flat on both sides (skinny piggy?), with glass windows that could slide open if you took the screws out… that being said, I dont’ think we ever took the coins out. I like your parents’ piggy, too! my mom once saved up enough extra coin to fund a trip across canada with me and my siblings, just with small change, so I think your fam will be pleasantly surprised by the end of it all!
I think the best part will be smashing it open like a piñata!!!
